One of the hallmarks of the extensive impact of Xunzi, the philosopher, on history is the fact that two of his disciples, Li Si and Han Fei, went on to having great political relevance as China entered a new political phase. However, both did it by betraying his master, having embraced the legalistic doctrine that Xunzi so disliked and placed themselves under the protection of the Qin rulers that so disliked Xunzi.
