Important Announcement: New Book is Out, Free for Paying Subscribers

"Gods & Heroes" comprises all the oldest posts, up to the 43rd, in a newly-edited, single book

Starting today, all new paying subscribers will receive not just an electronic copy of my 2023 book ”Emperor Whisperers: a comparative history of ancient Western and Chinese philosophy” but also a copy of “Gods & Heroes,” a revised compilation of all the early posts in the History of Mankind Project, up to the collapse of Egypt’s pharaonic civilization.

You can buy both books separately, with Emperor Whisperers available here and Gods & Heroes here, but I wouldn’t recommend it. They’re super-expensive. It certainly is much cheaper to get them as subscription gifts.

I do recommend reading both. Emperor Whisperers goes into detailed discussions of comparative philosophy that go beyond the posts I’ve published in A History of Mankind. Gods & Heroes is also worth reading even if you already had a look at all the earliest posts because it incorporates some new material, mostly from recent discoveries and studies that came out over the last three years.

A lot of those studies I’ve already discussed in the monthly Q&As, but now you can have them incorporated within the original text, in an easy-to-read electronic format.

Existing paid subscribers, by the way, will also get a copy of Gods & Heroes immediately, so don’t you worry about that, and please let me know if you don’t see it in your inbox within the next week.
