The ubiquity of drones in Ukraine seems to have brought the lines to draw. Are there parallels here to WWI where new technology that hadn’t yet been deployed in war unexpectedly brought things to a stall. I wonder if this is a repeating pattern in history where new technology is first deployed in war it creates a destabilizing outcome that will have to be settled again later once societies have had time to adapt?
Do you think the Indus Valley Script will ever be deciphered and we can know as much about the Harappan Civilizaition as we do about Egyptian or Sumerian civilizations? What do you make of these recent dubious claims to decipherment and claims that the Harappans spoke Sanskrit?
