Lock in a much lower price before I raise the monthly rate

So I’m planning to bring some inflation adjustment to my monthly rate for paying subscribers. After five years at $9/month, I will tweak it to $9.99 over this summer for all new subscribers.

Forever! It’s a pretty good deal, if I may say so. Take it! It’s not simply that I prefer to make more money, and pay for research trips and expensive academic books and the like, stuff that otherwise I couldn’t afford because this is a full-time gig. It’s also that it makes me sad that only a tiny fraction of my 58k subscribers are paying subs, and get to see the stuff behind the paywall, which is more than half of what I write.
